This Privacy Policy explains how Raziel.MD handles information when you use the application.

1. Responsible party

Raziel.MD is operated by Daian Gouveia Morato.

2. Information handled

Raziel.MD does not require registration, login, or an account.

Markdown files, file names, folder paths, metadata, content, and synchronization information are processed and stored locally on the user's device using browser storage, such as IndexedDB, localStorage, and sessionStorage.

The application may also store the following locally:

• language, theme, and appearance preferences;
• open-tab state and interface preferences;
• rendered-content cache;
• operational records related to actions performed in the application;
• information required to synchronize with folders selected by the user.

This information is not automatically sent to the application operator and is not stored on a Raziel.MD-owned server.

3. Importing local files

When the user selects files or folders, the application accesses only the items authorized through the system file picker.

This access is used to import, view, or synchronize Markdown documents. The user can cancel the selection or remove the locally stored data.

4. Remote documents

The user may choose to open or import Markdown documents available at HTTPS URLs.

In that case, the browser connects directly to the address selected by the user. The server responsible for that URL may receive technical information normally associated with an HTTP request, such as IP address, browser, operating system, and access date and time.

Raziel.MD does not act as a proxy for these documents. When the user confirms an import, the content is stored locally on the device as described in this policy.

5. External link previews

When opening an external link, Raziel.MD may show a preview with the title, description, site name, and image of the destination page (Open Graph metadata).

To generate this preview, the URL of the link chosen by the user is sent to an internal service of the application itself, not to a third-party service. That internal service is the one that contacts the destination site; because the connection originates from that service and not from the user's browser, the IP address and the other technical information normally associated with an HTTP request that the destination server receives are those of the application's internal service, not the user's. The destination server returns only the page's public metadata. No personal content, file, or document belonging to the user is sent in this process.

This feature is optional and can be turned off at any time in Settings → Reading → Privacy → "External link preview". When disabled, no preview request is made and links keep working normally.

6. Clipboard

The application may use the clipboard when the user activates functions to copy content, paths, or links. Raziel.MD does not continuously monitor the clipboard.

7. Public website

The public website (landing, documentation, and policy pages) uses Google Analytics 4 to measure audience: pages visited, language, traffic source, device type, and browser, plus the IP address, which Google uses to estimate approximate location. This data is statistical and is not used to identify the user.

Google Signals is enabled for this measurement. When someone browses while signed in to a Google Account with ad personalization turned on, Google may associate the visit with that account to produce aggregated demographic data (age range, gender, and interests) and to build remarketing lists. For that, the browser also contacts Google advertising domains such as stats.g.doubleclick.net and www.google.com. Raziel.MD receives no information from Google that identifies anyone individually: reports are aggregated.

For that measurement, Google Analytics writes its own cookies (such as _ga) in the browser, and the advertising signals may involve Google cookies. You can turn off ad personalization at My Ad Center, install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or block and remove those cookies in the browser settings — in every case without affecting use of the site.

The application at /app/ — where documents are imported, read, and organized — is served by a separate HTML shell and loads no Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or any other third-party analytics service. No file name, folder path, or document content is sent to Google.

A network connection may deliver the site, application resources, and updates. Locally stored documents are not sent as part of that flow.

8. Purposes

Information is handled to:

• provide the application's features;
• store and organize documents locally;
• enable imports and synchronization requested by the user;
• generate external link previews (title, description, and image) when the feature is enabled;
• preserve preferences and settings;
• maintain the application's security, stability, and operation;
• respond to support requests or legal obligations;

9. Sharing

Raziel.MD does not sell, rent, or share documents stored locally by the user.

Information may be processed by:

• servers responsible for remote URLs selected by the user;
• destination servers of external links opened by the user, contacted by the internal preview service described in Section 5, when the feature is enabled;
• Google LLC, as the operator of Google Analytics on the public website described in Section 7, under the Google Privacy Policy;
• hosting and infrastructure providers required to deliver the application;
• Microsoft in connection with Microsoft Store distribution and operation, under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

10. Storage, retention, and deletion

Local data remains on the device until the user:

• deletes files or folders through the application;
• uses the option to clear local data;
• removes site data in the browser settings;
• uninstalls the application, when applicable to the environment in use.

Deleting browser data may be irreversible. We recommend exporting a backup before clearing or removing local data.

11. Security

Raziel.MD is designed to keep documents locally and uses browser-isolated storage mechanisms. Markdown content also passes through sanitized rendering.

Nevertheless, no device, browser, or internet transmission is completely secure. Users should keep their operating system, browser, and device protected and avoid importing documents from unknown sources.

12. User rights

Under applicable law, including Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD), users may request information about the processing of personal data, correction, deletion, objection, or other rights provided by law.

Because most application data remains on the user's device, many actions can be performed directly through the application's deletion, export, and data-clearing features.

13. Children and teenagers

Raziel.MD is not specifically directed to children and does not knowingly request personal information from children or teenagers.

14. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes to the application, the services used, or applicable law. The latest version will be made available on this page.
