This area lets you make the app more comfortable for your reading style.

🛠️ What you can personalize

• 🌗 Light/Dark mode: pick what feels better for your eyes.
• 🎨 Color palette: change the overall visual style.
• 🔤 Font style: choose the text style you prefer.
• 🔎 Font size: make text bigger or smaller.
• 📏 Reading width: narrower or wider content area.
• ↕️ Line spacing: compact or more relaxed reading.
• 🎯 Focus mode: reduce distractions while reading.
• 📚 Reading mode: cleaner layout for long sessions.
• 🎞️ Reduced motion: fewer animations for visual comfort.
• 🔄 Sync: control when the app checks linked folders for changes.

👉 How to open it

You can open settings in two ways:

• click the gear button in the header;
• use shortcut Ctrl+,.

🔄 Sync tab

Use this tab to choose how folders linked to disk are updated:

• Automatic sync: turn all automatic checks on or off. Manual sync remains available when this option is off.
• Adaptive: the app checks more often after finding changes and gradually increases the interval when nothing changes.
• Fixed interval: keep the selected period. Available presets are 2, 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
• Manual only: schedule no checks; use the Sync button whenever you want to update the library.
• Sync on startup: run a check when the app opens, while automatic sync is enabled.
• Sync when returning to the tab: check for changes when you return to the app, while automatic sync is enabled.
• Notifications: receive notices always, only when changes are found, only for errors, or never.

How Adaptive mode chooses the next check

You do not need to choose an interval. The app starts by checking every 5 minutes. When it finds changes, it checks sooner, every 2 minutes. If nothing changes, it waits a little longer between checks, up to 15 minutes. Checks pause while the app is in the background; when you return, one can happen immediately if that option is enabled.

Automatic sync works while the app is open and active. The browser may suspend checks when the tab or app is inactive.

• Reading at night? Try dark mode + slightly larger font.
• Need concentration? Turn on focus mode.
• Using a big screen? Increase reading width.
• Prefer less movement? Turn on reduced motion.

🔄 Can I reset everything?

Yes. You can return to default settings anytime.
